Hi, I’m Renata.

I’m the designer and maker behind Eloise & Thread.

I’m interested in crochet as a way of thinking about clothing through fabric, structure, and silhouette. My work explores how this traditional craft can be approached with a contemporary sensibility, creating garments that feel both considered and enduring.

More recently, I’ve turned to historic crochet, looking to vintage patterns and publications for techniques and ideas that inform my own work.

Through this study, I’ve come to recognize that my own approach to crochet has a long history within the craft. This realization has deepened my appreciation for crochet as a material practice and strengthened my confidence in its possibilities.

My hope is that my work encourages modern makers to consider crochet from a fresh perspective, while carrying forward the thoughtful craftsmanship of those who came before us.
